The Glenroy Hunting Safaris operation is headed by one of New Zealand's most experienced international big game hunters, Jim Hunter. A man with a vast hunting background, he is a founding member of the New Zealand chapter of Safari Club International, a member of the New Zealand Professional Hunting Guides Association and a member of the International Professional Hunters' Association.

Jim was the recipient of the Safari Club International Hunter of the Year Award in 2002. Jim has hunted extensively throughout Africa, Europe, South America, Australia, New Guinea, New Caledonia, Russia, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Alaska, Colorado, Texas and Canada and was at one time Head-Man Hunter for the New Zealand Forest Service.
